Writing 101, Day 8: Reinvent the letter format

Dear grandma,

The time when I was born

You were sleeping deep in the dark dark night

When the very first sunrise of my life appears in the next few hours

You already got up  to begin a hard day’s work

And then day by day

We breath the same air

But you do not know my existence

Until you stopped breath forever

Until you closed your eyes forever

You still do not know your whether your eldest son, my father

Life-or-death

I am the first child of my father, your eldest son

I guess he told you this big news from his heart

And he also told me that he will not leave me alone entire his life

Because he do not want the same pain occurred to me

The unspoken pain that he had been through all life’s long

That how a family is being separated apart

Dear grandma

The war that tears  your family apart is over

You already sleeping deep in the starry starry night

I know your eldest son is waiting for the very first sunrise

The day that he will see you again

Writing 101, Day 7: Let social media inspire you

I agree with it. Education is a process as if it were an onion, systematically exploring its multiple facets.

There are two characteristics of most onions—multi-layered composition and irritation of the eyes of anyone handling them.

Each layer lends itself to peeling away to expose another layer underneath. Here, each layer could be seen as an unknown part which waits me to learn.

And the irritation of the eyes could be seen as I have learned something already.

By the peeling process, I could know the whole picture of the onion, brings a fulfilled feeling to me.

( I am learning how to write in English well, thanks to the TPS:http://www.publishedscholar.com/e_paper/e_paper_c.php?SID=7, demonstrate a perfect example for me to express my idea of the onion.)

Writing 101, Day 6: The space to write

Outside my house, the tube is an excellent place to write, with a pen and a pocket notebook. Although there are usually crowded people around me, that is a special space and time totally belong to me, makes it the perfect place to write.

Inside my house, my cats always visit me when I write. Especially on the big rectangle desk in the living room, my cats walk by the laptop even step on the keyboard and then the screen show up some characters or numbers look like secret codes they want to hint me. When I use pen to write on papers, my cats handshake with my pen as if they have something to say.

Writing 101, Day 5: Hook ’em with a quote

Be yourself; everyone else is already taken. / Oscar Wilde

Why cannot be yourself?

You don’t know who you are.

Where do you come from?

Where you are heading?

You don’t know who you are.

If tonight you will die,

What style and color will you wear after you got up in the morning?

What do you want for the last supper?

You don’t know who you are.

How will you do with your money and books?

Among those who already died, who you want to say sorry to?

Among those who still alive,  who you want to say sorry to?

You don’t know who you are.

Until I know what’s the most valuable gift I leave to the world.

Writing 101, Day 4: A story in a single image

Paralia Gerakas, Greece by Viktor Jakovlev

(Paralia Gerakas, Greece. Photo by Viktor Jakovlev)

On this island, only man can catch the fish by the tatala. Woman is forbidden to do this.

And only man can eat  the dolphin fish. Woman is forbidden to eat this.

This May I know these things from a 69 years old man, who is Tao people on the island.

And I forgot to ask him: Do you think the sea is male or female?

* the island is the Orchid Island, one part of Taiwan(Republic of China, not People’s Republic of China). The Tao people is the aboriginal people on the Orchid Island.

Writing 101,Day 2:Things I’ve Learned From Gardening

  1. Plants follow seasons, but also change the seasons.
  2. The ant shows incredible wisdom and a strong will to solve difficulties.
  3. It looks like dead, but just keep watering it day by day and it will show you a miracle.
  4. Diversity is natural. Even one plant but with two kinds of leaves, such as staghorn fern with fertile fronds and barren fronds.
  5. When we plant it in a pot, we take fully control of its life. It is our responsibility.

Writing 101, Day 1: I write because . . .

I write because I want to know myself.

There are many thoughts and moods within me but I don’t know what exactly they look like and smells like and touched like.

What I write means what I think? I don’t know, also cannot be sure. But after I write it down, I will know it black or white, hot or cold, hard or soft. I will know if it is me or not.

When I look at the words written by my fingers, just like looking into a mirror, the guy in it is looking into my eyes.
